"West Inn & Suites; in Carlsbad, north San Diego County, California - I stayed at the West Inn & Suites; in Carlsbad, north San Diego County, California; for one night in early February 2009. The hotel seems new, and is near the 5 freeway, which is ultra-convenient without being noisy, apparently due to multi-paned glass windows. My suite was enormous and stylish, done in a brown and ecru palate. There was a potted orchid, two large flat-screen televisions, a sitting room with an elegant couch, a wet bar with a microwave, a fantastic bed with great linens, and Aveda toiletries. The beautiful lobby is high ceilinged with very attractive dark brown wide plank flooring. The staff was of the freshly-scrubbed, enthusiastic San Diego variety, welcoming and professional. The next time I have to be in north San Diego County, I will absolutely contact this hotel to see about getting a reservation."
