The West Inn & Suites is a beautiful gem tucked in right off the freeway. I love the hospitality and make it my Southern California destination every time. I'll make sure to visit for pleasure as well.

This hotel is conveniently located near the I-5 freeway. Don't worry about freeway noise. I had to stand at the window and listen for it to hear it. The flower fields are a very short drive away. Carlsbad Village is a short drive or long walk away. The room we had was very nice, the service was good, and the lobby is very nice. I would ding my rating by a half star if I could, because, although I appreciate the included breakfast, styrofoam plates, styrofoam cups (for waffle batter, I think), and plastic utensils were used in the breakfast service. Styrofoam will persist on this planet, undegraded, in landfills, for hundreds of years - it just doesn't break down. Single use plastic is another scourge on the earth. Not only would this hotel would look so much classier if they used real plates and tableware, but it would be so much better for the environment.

We love the West Inn, it’s beautiful and comfortable filled with small touches that matter. My kids love the cookies and milk hour in addition to the bins of pool toys at the pool. We keep coming back!
